In order to ensure an easy start, the Developer Kit package contains all relevant binaries for developing plug-ins, and it contains projects for Eclipse IDE and IntelliJ IDEA IDE. If you want to use another IDE, you should consult instructions for the specific IDE.

Requirements
To be able to develop plug-ins for one of our products, it is required that you know Java (J2SE) 1.5. Furthermore it is a great advantage to do the development with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) like Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA or Netbeans from Sun Microsystems. Many useful IDEs can be downloaded and used free of charge.

Furthermore it is required to have a registered version of our SDK - the CLC Developer Kit.

Furthermore you will get an account on the CLC Developer Site, where you can read all relevant documentation and latest news relevant for developing plug-ins.

Among others, the comprehensive Developer Kit documentation includes

  • Details on how to set up a plug-in project in your IDE
  • Details on how to customize and deploy your plug-ins
  • Description of plug-in types such as action plug-ins, import-plug-ins, export plug-ins etc.
  • Detailed description of the API, including all relevant JavaDoc
  • A number of tutorials/coding-examples, covering all types of plug-ins that can be developed
